CE+ success
Cyber Essentials is a UK government backed IT Security standard which helps your business guard against 88% of all known types of cyber attack.
We at datamills (UK) Ltd are Cyber Essentials accredited, and our “Cyber Division” has now built up several years’ experience helping security-conscious customers to achieve the Cyber Essentials standard themselves.
If you really want to show that you are taking cyber security seriously, “Cyber Essentials Plus” takes things even further.
The difference between Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus:
- Cyber Essentials is a self-assessment where you need to answer questions that provide evidence you have the five technical controls implemented. Cyber Essentials Plus is a verified version of the self-assessment; an external assessor tests and proves that the technical controls are in place.
- Cyber Essentials BASIC is a self-certification. Cyber Essentials PLUS is the highest level of certification and is a more rigorous test of your organisation’s security systems.
- Cyber Essentials Plus is inspected and verified by a government-approved third party.
Who needs Cyber Essentials certification?
The UK government website says “If you would like to bid for central government contracts which involve handling sensitive and personal information or the provision of certain technical products and services, you will require Cyber Essentials Certification”. This is certainly the case if you are a supplier to the Ministry of Defence, and may also be relevant to supplying into the aerospace industry.
We are delighted to have been working with local engineering company HP Consulting Ltd, to enable them to achieve Cyber Essentials Plus! HP Consulting supply to the aerospace industry, including the US military, so their security obviously needs to be absolutely bullet-proof.
Chris Tye, who owns HP Consulting, was thrilled with the positive outcome and was quick to thank datamills for their support.
