datamills (UK) Ltd are proud to have helped yet another customer achieve their CYBER ESSENTIALS certification this week.
The local structural and civil engineering company was delighted to renew their certificate for a further year.
They join a small, but growing, number of local engineering companies who have found that they need Cyber Essentials to be able to bid for certain contracts, and have come to datamills to help them achieve it.
What is Cyber Essentials?
Cyber Essentials helps you to guard your organisation against cyber attack.
Cyber Essentials is a simple but effective, Government backed scheme that will help you to protect your organisation, whatever its size, against a whole range of the most common cyber attacks.
Over 30,000 Cyber Essentials certificates have been awarded to businesses and organisations since the scheme was launched in 2014.
How does Cyber Essentials certification help?
Having Cyber Essentials helps in 2 ways:
- Improves your protection against cyber attack
- Shows your prospective customers that you are safe to work with (some won’t consider you if you don’t have Cyber Essentials)
How is Cyber Essentials awarded?
Cyber essentials compliance is determined by working through a questionnaire. This will ask you about the computers, software, connections and procedures you have in your business. As you work through the questionnaire you make sure that you are complying with all the requirements for each component. This step-by-step approach breaks down all the aspects that affect cyber security and helps you look at them one at a time. And this is where datamills comes in….because we can help you with the time-consuming and technically specific parts of the process. We’ll dec0de the technical jargon, and work with you to enable any changes that are neccesary to achieve your certificate.
