What does Cyber Aware do?
Cyber Aware is a resource provided by the government, which is all about discovering how you, your family and your business can be secure online.
How does it work?
Cyber Aware (formerly Cyber Streetwise) aims to help small businesses and individuals to protect themselves from cyber criminals. This is achieved using a website, as well as twitter and facebook accounts. All of these help you to adopt simple secure online behaviours such as: installing the latest software and app updates and using a strong, separate password for your email. This is all based on expert advice from the National Cyber Security Centre, a part of GCHQ.
Who provides it?
Cyber Aware is a cross-government awareness and behaviour change campaign (delivered by the Home Office in conjunction with Department of Culture, Media & Sport alongside the National Cyber Security Centre, and funded by the National Cyber Security Programme in the Cabinet Office).
