Bitwarden Password Manager

Password managers – what are they?

Every account you have online needs login details – username and password etc.

To keep things secure, it is important to have strong passwords that are NOT easy to guess or for a computer to crack.  And it’s also vital that you use DIFFERENT passwords for each account, so that if one is breached your other accounts are still safe.

With these things in mind, you can quickly end up with a LONG list of passwords to try to remember.

And this is where password managers come in.

The following short video explains things very well:

Thankyou PCMag for that!

So, if you watched that to the end you will have noticed that a good password manager does more than just saving your long list of passwords securely for you.  They can also:

  • create strong passwords for you
  • automatically fill in your username and password details on login screens for your accounts
  • warn you of any breaches that have occurred involving your passwords, so that you can change them

How to choose the best password manager for me?

Things to consider:

  • How much will it cost?  Is a free one sufficient?
  • Will it work on all my devices, and sync seamlessly between them?
  • Is there a limit to the number of passwords I can store in it?
