There’ll be a new venue for future Digital Cafe Network events – our very own datamills meeting room!
When we moved into our new offices in February, our priority was to keep our customer service going with no interruptions. We had to get the office space and workshop ready to use straight away. But there was a space that we had other plans for, even though they couldn’t happen straight away….
The space had been an industrial store room. The floor was pitted and sloped. In fact, it wasn’t even a separate room; more an off-shot. But several months on, it looks completely different, and our new meeting room has hosted it’s first few meetings!
A big shout out is due to Andrew’s friend Simon, who helped him build a stud wall, and make it into a room. Most of the team, and even some family, have helped with filling, sanding and painting. Andrew, with professional input, has designed the space. Teresa has put a lot of work into planning and sourcing furniture, as well as co-ordinating tradespeople. The floor was levelled and covered. The end wall was painted with a special “rust effect” paint, to enhance the retro, industrial feel. The lighting adds to this effect. Cabinets were built and fitted. A large TV covers most of the top half of the stud wall, which is perfect for presentations, but also for Zoom meetings. There are tables and chairs, as well as sofas and coffee table, so the tone of the meeting can be business-like, or more relaxed.
As well as being suitable for customers to meet with us, and for internal staff meetings, we’ve found it a great quiet space for Zoom meetings and phone calls, and hope to fill it sometimes for larger events such as Digital Cafe Network meetings and partner social events.
We look forward to welcoming you to meet with us here soon! Why not drop in if you’re passing through the S8 area?
