Meet Jamie, our new field engineer

It’s a good thing we have more space in the new office, because our team is growing!

Our newest team member, Jamie, joined us in April, making datamills a staff of 7.

Jamie’s role is split between two main responsibilities.  Part of the time he works within the datamills technical team, providing technical expertise and assistance to all our clients.  You may have met him already.  Or spoken to him on the ‘phone.  Or received an email response from him to your technical enquiry…  The other part of his time is spent providing specific I.T. support to one of our biggest clients, both in Sheffield and at their multiple sites around the UK.  This part of his job takes him out of the office at least two days a week, travelling far and wide.

Jamie comes to us with a wealth of experience in both IT and in customer service, and has fitted in quickly with the rest of the staff here at datamills.  He has also hit the ground running with customer work, both providing technical support to clients on a daily basis, and feeding into the planning and delivery of projects.  He is quickly becoming a great asset to the datamills team.

We asked Jamie what he enjoys most about working with datamills.  He said, “My favourite thing about working for datamills is feeling like I’m trusted to be my own boss, which is amazing”.

We also asked him what was the weirdest habit any of his co-workers here has…  He said that three members of the team do a silly dance whenever they go over the threshold of the upstairs office!  Can you guess which three he is talking about?!

Welcome to the datamills team, Jamie; it’s great to have you onboard!
