What can we expect to see lots of in 2022?
The internet of things!
The ever-expanding universe of the smart-devices continues…
From cars that use facial recognition cameras to alert you when you are becoming tired at the wheel, to toilets that analyse your stool sample to diagnose possible gastro-intestinal problems.
Artificial intelligence will be used more and more to enhance user experience in many areas. For instance to maintain high call quality in mobile phones, or to optimise photographs.
The effects of COVID
COVID forced a rapid digitisation and virtualisation in many areas. This is likely to continue, although the recently more neglected consideration of sustainability will rise up the priority list again, along with a drive for greater data volume capability, and computing and network speed.
In your office
Windows 11
This is the biggest change in Microsoft’s operating system for a while, and it will be on your office computer during 2022. Find out more about what it will be like.
Price rises
Utility price rises are set to rise by up to 30% in the UK during 2022. Gulp.
Microsoft price rises are also set to rise, and by the largest margin in a long time. Microsoft says “On March 1, 2022, we will update our list pricing for the following commercial products: Microsoft 365 Business Basic (from $5 to $6 per user), Microsoft 365 Business Premium (from $20 to $22), Office 365 E1 (from $8 to $10), Office 365 E3 (from $20 to $23), Office 365 E5 (from $35 to $38), and Microsoft 365 E3 (from $32 to $36). These increases will apply globally with local market adjustments for certain regions. There are no changes to pricing for education and consumer products at this time”.
House prices could also be rising, which is good news for homeowners.
Whatever 2022 brings, datamills (UK) Ltd would like to wish you a happy and peaceful new year, and we look forward to supporting you through it.
