We had a lovely surprise in the datamills office this week
A delivery arrived. Not like our usual deliveries.
This was no router, desktop computer, cables or cabinet.
It was cake!
An enormous box of cake of every kind you could think of!
It was sent by a lovely customer to thank the team for going above and beyond to support them during a stressful period recently.
LR Podiatry has recently taken on new premises in Sheffield City Centre. So, alongside all the other things that needed to be done, the IT and phone systems needed to be built up from scratch. This work was carried out and installed in time for the opening date.
But on the day before they were due to open to the public, an internet line fault meant that their telephone weren’t working.
Which is the last thing you need when you want floods of enquiries to come in to your newly opened offices.
Enter the datamills team, who provided a solution using a mobile phone sim card until the fault could be rectified, liaised with the internet provider’s engineer, and provided a failsafe backup, so that, when the first “repair” was unsuccessful, the temporary solution with the sim card could quickly be put back in place until the problem was properly resolved…
And all the time, Jack, Andrew and Calvin kept in touch with the team at the city centre office, reassuring, explaining, and generally providing support to make the whole situation as stress-free as is possible in a scenario like that one.
When the problem was finally resolved by the internet provider, we could take away our temporary fix, and leave a happy customer with a working system. Job successfully completed!
