Introducing North East Business Resilience Centre

We’d like to introduce to you a new resource for businesses in the North East of the country.

The North East Business Resilience Centre (NEBRC) was established in late 2019.  It is a non-profit organisation, which exists entirely to help businesses stay resilient in the face of threats they may face.  Their main focus is on resilience against the major threat that businesses face: cyber crime.

North East Business Resilience Centre has special connections to both local Universities and the 7 Police Forces in Northumbria, Cleveland, Durham, North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and Humberside.   These links enable the NEBRC to bring together the latest information on cyber-crime legislation, criminal trends, threats and new technology.  Which makes the centre ideally placed to “provide the very best advice to safeguard your staff, customers and business”.  Funding comes both directly from the Police, and from a range of public and private partners.

Headed up by director, Rebecca Chapman, who has 26 years’ policing experience, the NEBRC team is staffed by professionals with many more years of policing experience between them.  This experience includes setting up the force-wide Cyber-Crime unit, and award-winning, innovative work to help businesses understand, and prepare for, cyber attack.

This wealth of experience, along with the links they have in education, Police forces, and central government, mean that they are best placed to give your business an exceptional standard of advice and assistance to keep you safe from cyber crime.

Shahrzad Zargari, course leader in computer security with forensics at Sheffield Hallam, who is leading the University’s involvement in the NEBRC, said:  “We are really excited to be a part of this pioneering project”.   He added, “By combining our skills and expertise in cyber security with the insight and networks of our regional police forces we can help local businesses to protect themselves from cyber-attacks.”

So, what are you waiting for?  Why not head on over to NEBRC’s website to find out how your business can benefit?
