It’s the thought that counts, is the message from Action Fraud, the UK’s national fraud reporting service.
A little thought can save you falling foul of fraud this Christmas.
Action Fraud has shared a video via twitter showing a busy pre-Christmas day in the life of a person just like you:
Can you spot the moment she loses out?
If you’re splashing the cash this Christmas, make sure you keep an eye on your card. In the wrong hands, you lose out! Think about how you’re spending. It’s the #ThoughtThatCounts pic.twitter.com/jMk0KbjIan

Did you spot it?
It’s obvious once you’ve seen it, isn’t it?
The message is the same for avoiding all types of fraud – email, letter, phone call, card copying…
Just stop and think!
Ask yourself “Could this be an opportunity for a fraudster to get hold of my details?” (whether they be financial, passwords or whatever)
Before you hand over your card and let it go out of your sight…
Before you click on the link in the email or text message…
Before you give any personal details to a caller on the ‘phone or your doorstep…
In fact – NEVER do that last one!
Before you make a financial transfer that is urgently requested…
Always stop and think!
It really is the thought that counts.
Have a very happy, safe and fraud-free Christmas,
