Were you there?
More than 30 people from local businesses attended the “Data protection – keeping your business safe” workshop presented by Natwest last Thursday, 22nd February at St Paul’s Place, Sheffield. Ahead of the introduction of new data protection legislation in May (just 2 months away now!), attendees were keen to glean information from the experts about what to expect and how to prepare their businesses.
What was covered
Key speakers included datamills’ very own Andrew Mills, talking about the technical implications of keeping your data safe. He was joined by Gaye Turton, from Worldpay, explaining about security surrounding the use of card payment machines. Exploring the legal requirements surrounding data protection, was solicitor Toby Pochron, of Ironmonger Curtis Solicitors. There was also input from Shelton Newsham of the Yorkshire and Humber Regional Cyber Crime Unit, regarding fraud, and Natwest of course were on hand to advise, as well as hosting and initiating the event.
Was it good?
Comments from those attending were very positive, including “It was a really well organised event and the information presented was packed with value. It exceeded my expectations even before I won the bottle of prosecco!”
I missed out – what can I do?
