datamills are proud to announce our 10th anniversary on 9th July 2017!
Exactly 10 years ago, Andrew took the plunge, and left employment as an electronics technician. He had been fixing computers alongside working full-time for someone else, and was thinking more and more about opening his own business. On the 9th July 2007, datamills began.
At that time Andrew worked alone; his headquarters a computer in the corner of the kitchen at home. He was supported technically by a friend, Nathen Fredrick. Wife Zoe, along with another friend, Kate, provided backup for accounts and admin. Eventually it became too difficult to squeeze everyone, including clients, into the kitchen, and datamills moved into the current office space in early 2010.
Soon John joined the team, Teresa came to provide “proper” admin support, and then Alex arrived. Over the course of the next few years, we’ve said hello and then goodbye again to Lauren and Taron, and also welcomed Enike, and John has become Kathryn. Zoe returned to add extra hours to the admin team.
On Wednesdays, when we’re all in the office, space is pretty tight, so maybe we’re almost ready for another move…
We’ve learnt lots over the years, and have had the privilege of working with hundreds of clients, many of whom are a big part of our story, and we’re very excited to be sharing this celebratory milestone with you. In fact, we’d love to hear your first memories of datamills (or any funny ones). Do let us know! (simply email your story to admin@datamills.co.uk)
We anticipate more exciting times ahead as we look to what the next 10 years will bring…
