You may have noticed that we’re always talking about security for your IT system! We have newsletter articles about security, we run Digital Cafe sessions to help you consider it (actually, the next one is on Thursday 14th April, and is about how to “Secure your Business” – click here to book!), we provide the baseline “Secure” package, and we talk about it quite a lot too! This is because one of the most disruptive things that can happen to your business is to have a cyber attack. As well as losing time, you can lose valuable data about your customers, and even money from your bank account.
There hasn’t been much of a coherent war on cyber crime, because it is so hard to trace the perpeprators, and virtually impossible to bring them to justice (especially if they live on the other side of the world!). However, police, law-firms, insurers, governments and other agencies are starting to gather momentum in dealing with the issue.
datamills is in conversation with several of these groups in order to keep at the forefront of what’s happening with IT security. So far, in 2016, we have been to the FSB Cyber Crime and Business event, and are attending the Yorkshire Cyber Security Cluster meeting. We have met with the Chief Inspector of the Yorkshire and Humberside Cyber Crime Prevention Unit. Information security training providers and insurers alike have been impressed with our depth of knowledge, and the security packages we already provide for our customers.
