Should I upgrade to Windows 10?

Windows 10 has arrived, to much better reception than Windows 8!  It is available as a free upgrade to existing users of Windows 7 and 8.1 until July 2016, so should you go for it?

We are running Windows 10 on some machines in the datamills office, and have found it to be very good.  There have been a few teething problems, but nothing serious (although it is easy to downgrade again if you find anything you really don’t like).

Features such as the virtual assistant Cortana, previously the domain of mobile devices, are a welcome addition.  The look and feel are intuitive “Windows”, so it’s easy to use.

A word of warning though, if you’re running older versions of Windows, such as XP or Vista – this may well be running on older hardware that will struggle with Windows 10.  Likewise, if you are running any specialist software for your business, you need to check that the version you have is supported by Windows 10, before making the leap.

If you’d like to see it for yourself, we can provide a free demo/guided tour – simply contact the office to make an appointment – ‘phone 0114 287 0510, or send us an email.
