Accidentally catching the touchpad when typing?

You’re typing away at your document, when all of a sudden, the cursor flies across the page, and you find yourself typing the next half a sentence into the middle of a word somewhere else in the text.  Grrrr!  Sound familiar?

Great news then, that the touchpad can usually be disabled whilst typing, simply by changing a setting…

The way to do this varies from laptop to laptop, but usually going into “Control Panel”, and then “Mouse”, will give you an option such as “disable touchpad” or “tap off when typing”.  Simply select this option.

For laptops without this option, free software is available which does the same thing for you.  Just search google for “Touchpad lock software” to find one.
